Dr. Aherne graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2004.  She obtained her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Columbia University in 1998, after graduation from Cornell University.  Since 1998, Kate has practiced in a variety of settings:  public schools, outpatient facilities, in addition to patients' homes, treating adults, infants and children.  A member of the American Physical Therapy Association.  Pediatric Certified Specialist, PCS, 2001.  Credentialed American Physical Therapy Association Clinical Instructor 2003. Fundamentals and Advanced Kinesio Taping, Kinesio Taping International 2012.  Interests include differences in acquisition of motor skills across the lifespan, perception of pain and functional outcomes, balance, low back pain, fitness and shortness of breath.
